 WELCOME TO AUSTRALIND PRIMARY SCHOOL

WELCOME TO COUNTRY

I respectfully acknowledge the Noongar people who are the past and present traditional owners and custodians of this land on which we are meeting.

It is a privilege to be standing on Noongar country.

Australind Primary School is a small school with a big heart.  We seek ‘To Inspire Learning for Life’ in a safe, collaborative and inclusive teaching and learning environment. Our staff, students and their families share a sense of spirit and pride in our School. Through the implementation of consistent social and academic whole school approaches, we support students to develop the skills and understandings which will enable them to contribute meaningfully and ethically to society.  Through fostering a culture of ‘Choose Respect’ our School is a great place to learn, work and develop strong relationships.

Australind Primary School opened in 1980, and now caters for approximately 170 Kindy to Year 6 students. Our relatively small size is a feature we cherish, as we have the opportunity to get to know our students very well and can cater to their individual needs. We enjoy strong links with other local schools, including Australind Senior High School adjacent to our property. This creates unique opportunities for our students and enhances the quality of our programs. We have specialist staff in physical education, health, science and information technology. In addition, selected students in Year 5 and 6 are able to access instrumental music on site.

All staff have committed to the whole of school programmes to support teaching and learning and we have been excited about the positive impact these programmes have had on our students. Social initiatives include You Can Do It! and Choose Respect and our academic approaches are Soundwaves, VCOP and Big Write and Brightpath

As an Independent Public School, we enjoy flexibilities which enable us to make the best decisions to suit our students. We have a strong School Board, a proactive Parent and Citizen's group and a great many volunteers through programs such as the School Volunteer Program and Hands Up for Kids. Our school chaplain provides additional support for many families and coordinates our popular school breakfast program.

Australind is a delightful alternative for those wanting ready access to waterways, bushland and forests, while having first class regional city facilities at their doorstep. Australind Primary School plays an important role in our community and proudly supports the ongoing personal development of future generations.
